Professional History

David A. Mallen started his employment law practice in 1992, fresh out of law school. He has litigated over 700 employment cases including wrongful termination, sexual harassment, disability discrimination, age discrimination, whistle-blower claims, family & medical leave, wage & hour law, and class actions.

David is “AV-Rated”® by Martindale-Hubbell. An AV® certification is the highest peer-review mark of excellence for professional ethics and legal ability.

Professional Awards

David has also been selected for the honor of Southern California Super Lawyers™, Employment Litigation, in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012. Super Lawyers magazine names attorneys in each state who received the highest point totals, as chosen by their peers and through independent research.

Mediation Training

Having successfully settled hundreds of lawsuits through mediation, David received his mediation certificate in 2010 from Pepperdine Law School’s Strauss Institute of Dispute Resolution–the # 1 ranked program in the country.

Lectures and Appearance

David serves as a guest lecturer on wage & hour issues for accountants and lawyers. He has also appeared on radio and television as an expert on employment law issues.

Personal

David and his wife Lora, an elementary school teacher, have three children, ages 8, 11 and 13. In 2001, David’s family founded Glacier Homemade Ice Cream & Gelato, based in Boulder, Colorado (“America’s Best Ice Cream”, Forbes Traveler.com 2008). Outside of work, David enjoys yoga, travel, little league baseball and soccer, as well as helping fellow small business entrepreneurs.

Rates and Accommodations

Half Day: $1,500. Includes four hours of mediation time plus one hour for review of briefs and pre-mediation phone conference.

Full Day: $2,500. All-inclusive.

Class Action Mediations: $4,000 per day.

Online Mediation: $1,500 per day.
